Account Executive

About the role

We are looking for an Account Executive to join our high growth sales team. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for managing a number of Leads and Opportunities, providing them with a world-class experience, converting them into customers, and helping them to succeed.

You will be responsible for responding to these prospects in a timely manner, understanding their needs, and tailoring your presentation to demonstrate how Karbon can solve their challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Having conversation with inbound leads who have shown interest or signed up for a trial to Karbon—this could be on the phone, a Zoom call, via email, chat or social media.
  • Answering incoming sales and email inquiries from prospects.
  • Proactively engaging and rewarming prospects and former prospects
  • Qualifying and understanding a prospect’s needs
  • Qualifying and understanding a prospect’s needs

About you

We are looking for someone who is hungry to learn, can think on their feet and identify solutions to a prospects’ question, effectively manage the customer’s first experience of Karbon, do enough to convince them to purchase.

This is a high-growth atmosphere and we’re looking for someone who thrives in that environment. The ability to multitask, leverage lots of modern software to automate tasks, set and adjust priorities, and be a team-player is critical. There is always more to do than there are working hours in a day, so you will have to judge what to prioritize.


  • 2-5 years’ experience selling a SaaS product to small businesses as an AE or BDR/SDR
  • Experience with outbound sales
  • Comfortable working independently in a very fast-paced and tech savvy environment. 
  • Strong work ethic, are a self-motivator, and have the results to show for it
  • Able to listen to a customer’s challenges and ask questions to understand their needs
  • A friendly, but assertive demeanor
  • Highly organized and methodical about process management.
  • Reside in North America, ideally in the Bay Area, Reno, or San Diego
  • High-level of proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Accounting or Tax industry experience
  • Workflow, Accounting, Project Management software experience
  • Startup environment experience
